During the global lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, Equality Charter School found itself planning its annual Spring Reception. This event was set to commemorate the school’s successful 5-year charter renewal and the expansion to an Elementary School. However, the pandemic’s circumstances posed a significant challenge to the traditional in-person gathering.
READ MORE +Rather than cancel, PlanetFab decided to pivot, transforming the reception from in-person to an online celebration. Inspired by Vivian Greene’s quote, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain,” this adaptation turned a setback into an opportunity, allowing Equality Charter School to showcase its triumphs despite the difficult situation.
The virtual event also served to unite students, faculty, staff, and the wider community in a safe and joyous online celebration.
