Fox Searchlight Pictures challenged PlanetFab to create a series of key art posters for Battle of the Sexes. The goal was to go beyond typical promotional imagery and capture the cultural weight of the story. The film centered around the historic 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell). It highlights both the match and a key moment in the women’s movement and the sexual revolution.
PlanetFab embraced a concept-driven approach to the key art. We aimed to design posters that reflected the film’s 1970s aesthetic while addressing the societal tensions and gender conflicts at its core. Our goal was to create visuals that both referenced the era’s cultural shifts and resonated with today’s audience.
